Get Involved in PTA!

SBMS offers many ways you can become involved! Please contact the respective chair to sign up for shifts on the opportunities listed below:

8th Grade Activities - Join the 8th Grade Committee and help plan the year end dance, assembly and farewell ceremony. Always looking for volunteers.

Bears 4 Bears - Help out our Bear community with various projects on an as needed basis. May include translation, picking up supplies and needs for our Bears, coordinating projects and other things as needed. One of the most rewarding volunteer positions at SBMS!  Chairs: Shelly McCain

Office & Copy Room Volunteer - Volunteer in the office and assist teachers/staff with copying and other workroom projects once a month. Chair: Callie Griffin

Fundraising - Join the fundraising committee to form ideas, publicize, plan, do small jobs, collect items, etc. Leaders and helpers are welcome!

Mentor - Volunteer on a weekly basis with a Bear through the SBISD Mentor program. You will be contacted for further information. Be an inspiration, a cheerleader, a person who listens and more to a student. Another one of the most rewarding volunteer positions!

Reflections - Assist the art teachers and PTA chair with the Reflections competition.

School Beautification and Landscaping - How can you help to make our school a more beautiful campus?

Chair: Whitney Janke

Spelling Bee - Assist the teacher coordinator and PTA chair with the Spelling Bee program.

Chair: Jennifer Fuller

Spirit Sales - When the store is open, volunteer to help sell items. May also assist in sorting and delivering items.

Chair: Alex Loyd

Teacher Appreciation - Help bring items, serve, set up, clean up and more at teacher appreciation events throughout the school year.

Single Event Help - Be on a list that allows you to be notified of various events throughout the year that need one-time, short-term volunteering.
